    ARM-10 Rapid Prototyping 3D Printer The new Roland monoFab ARM-10 rapid prototyping 3D printer makes creating 3D models as easy as hitting print. The ARM-10’s layered projection system uses resin material which hardens into a semi-transparent object when exposed to UV light. Complex parts which previously required multi-axis milling, such as hollow or requiring undercuts, can be built quickly and easily. By using a suspended build system, resin usage is kept to a minimum, making model production efficient and affordable.     High-quality, stereolithography printing

    3D PrintingUsing a layered projection system, a platform is lowered into a material tray containing imageCure, a transparent photopolymer resin, so that the surface of the platform is a single layer beneath the surface of the resin. A LED-based DLP projector beams a UV light that cures a cross section of the model, solidifying the resin wherever the resin is exposed. Once a layer is complete, the platform ascends to a second layer of thickness, resin flows over the first layer, and the next layer is built. This process continues until the model is complete. The DLP process creates high quality prints (models) and the projection process allows multiple objects to be produced at the same time.

    Once the model is complete, the platform rises out of the material tray and the excess resin runs off the model back into the material tray. The model is removed from the platform, washed of excess resin, and placed in daylight or other UV curing device for a final curing. The model is then finished by removing the temporary supports and sanding or filing the surface smooth if necessary.

    Resin safety precautions before and after curing
    The main intended purpose of PRH35-ST resin is design verification and prototyping applications. Refer to published safety data sheets and the included user's manual for the handling of uncured resin. Although completely cured resin* is harmless when used for its main intended purpose, no biocompatibility assessment has been conducted. This resin is not suitable for applications where direct contact with food will occur or applications where extended contact with skin or human body will occur.
    * Completely cured resin: Refers to the state where curing reaction has occurred to the point that uncured reactive components have been eliminated.
